Training

Mr. Brown has provided training courses, seminars and presentations to several police agencies and groups, including the Canadian Police College, Ontario Police College, Atlantic Police Academy, Ottawa University Third year law, various Canadian safety organizations, private / public companies, and Crown school in Ontario to address various concerns in relation to collision investigation and reconstruction. Training is targeted to individual agencies needs being delivered on-site. Mr. Brown has also developed and delivered an ACTAR approved course on motorcycle collision reconstruction.

Mr. Brown also takes continuing education by way of courses, conferences, and seminars. He also subscribes to collision related publications and on-line groups to keep abreast of new information within the field.

Areas of Research and Dynamic Testing

Mr. Brown has organized and participated in controlled field tests including:

  • Pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles, motorized snow vehicles, automobiles, commercial vehicles and in-line skating.  

  • Day and night time visual perception and reaction to speed, time, distance and hazards.

  • Total station vs. tape measures and CAD for accuracy in yaw / speed applications.

Mr. Brown is a licenced private investigator in the Province of Ontario. Statements of involved persons can be taken in respect to motor vehicle collisions.
